Frequently Asked Questions (and Answers!)
1. Are these the only companies that sell leotards?
No. There are many other smaller boutiques and businesses that I did not put in this article that sell leos. Amazon, Walmart, Target, and pretty much any retail store sells leotards that fit well in order to move around while doing gymnastics.
However, these companies are known for their know-how on how to make leotards since it is their niche! They aim to make their leos more custom and fit better than what you would find from a retail store.
2. How much does a leotard cost?
Depends! The price range could start from $10 - $400 depending on how comfortable, well-known, custom, glimmery you want your leo to be.
On the lower end: retail stores like Amazon and Target sell leos from $10 - $60.
While you are compromising a more custom fit and fabric durability, these leos work great for practice!
On the higher end: companies like GK Elite sell competition leos ranging from $70 - $400. You can feel assured that these leos will feel much more comfortable, durable, fitting, then what you find at retail.
3. What size leotard should I get?
Whichever size feels snug bit still comfortable. Leotards can be tricky because if you try to eyeball for a good size, they can look extremely tiny and too small when not on. However, when it's put on, it stretches out twice its size!
I always recommend to try on the leo before you buy it if possible because of this. Read the size chart recommendations if the store offers one. When in doubt, size up! You'd rather rely on a leo you will grow into than suffocate in one that is too small and never wear again.
